Contribute to CM's Relief Fund to help Fight the Devastating Floods
This year, incessant rainfall has deluged various states of the country to the grim situation of floods.
Over the last few months, 198 lives were claimed and over 1.17 crore people were displaced during the Assam and Bihar floods. The wrath of Mother Nature continues as heavy rainfall causes floods and landslips in the states of Kerala, Maharashtra and Karnataka among other states, throwing normal life out of gear.
Nature's fury has already claimed over 86 lives in Kerala, Maharashtra and Karnataka, while several lakh people have been evacuated to safer places.
GiveIndia calls out the community to contribute towards the Chief Minister's Relief Funds for the relief and rehabilitation operations in the affected areas of the states.
RED ALERT has been sounded in the state, a year after Kerala was ravaged by the deadliest monsoon that led to the worst deluge in its history over a century.
While 35 lives have been claimed in the state and 40 souls still expected to be trapped in the landslide debris at Wayanad, 64,000 people have been rescued and evacuated to relief camps.
As on midnight (August 9th, 2019), 30 people have died due to floods in Maharashtra.
Various districts of Maharashtra are currently deluged in flood waters, with the disaster already claiming a lot of innocent lives. 11 people have died in Sangali, 4 in Kolhapur, 6 in Pune, 7 in Satara, 1 in Solapur while nearly 2.5 lakh people have been evacuated to safer spaces.
The NDRF and Navy rescue and relief teams have been on alert and are executing relief operation in the affected areas that remained grim in the wake of the havoc.
Situations remain grim in Karnataka with 16 people losing their lives in the calamity and 1.3 lakh people rescued to safe shelters.
As heavy showers are expected over the next 48 hours, red alert has been sounded in six districts of Malnad and costal Karnataka.
Disaster relief operations require the states to make immediate arrangements for healthcare, drinking water, food items, electricity among other necessity in addition to rescue and relief.
