Support "NEW SOCH" of Young Innovators!
Children are wide-eyed creative beings who have a lot to offer to this world from a very young age. Yet their innovative ideas and thoughts remain untapped.
Inqui-lab Foundation, in collaboration with Mantra4Change, aims to nurture a culture of creativity, design and innovation within under-resourced schools such that students have access to opportunities that support their ideas on an ongoing basis. We consider both the participating students and schools as our partners to ensure sustainable change and transformation in school culture wherein student ideas, problem-solving and hands-on making is encouraged.
At a student level, the year-long program would include:
- Idea submission opportunities
- Design and prototyping opportunities
- Access to materials & tools for all and mentorship for select student projects
- School and external showcase opportunities like the Maker Faire
- Creation of Team portfolios of projects
OUR WORK SO FAR
Since 2016, our program has impacted 1350+ children from about 28 schools, generating 3000+ ideas and 350+ prototypes.
The program is implemented by Inqui-lab instructors, partner NGOs, trained in-school students or teachers. The participating students are all students in the age group of 10-12 years. They work in teams of 3 to submit ideas, design, prototype and present their ideas.
Through our work, we’ve often seen that children who are not academically successful have great ideas and are adept at making. Hence both during and post intervention, we wish to build team portfolios of projects and identify the students with good project portfolios such that they can be provided advanced exposure and long-term opportunities.
Our goal in 2019 is to reach 1000+ children from government & low-income schools through our Creativity & Innovation program and mark a change!
