Vrutti is a centre for sustainable livelihood enhancing people’s well-being through knowledge, innovation and transformative actions; i.e. ensure adequate socio economic status of people to have food and income security, self-reliance and ensure equitable opportunities and environment for people to live with dignity. Revolutionizing household prosperity through impactful and scalable models, through process innovation (entrepreneurship, business, institutional and financing models) and paradigm change (with family as a enterprise; integration) is our aim.
Vrutti works through two thematic areas: (a) Growing prosperity of small producers (farm, forest, fish, livestock), and covering other related themes – Water, Financial Inclusion, Climatic Resilience and Energy; (b) Livelihood and social security for the marginalised and vulnerable communities to ensure that smallholders are self-reliant, wealthy and no longer subsidy oriented. Farmers and local people look at agriculture as enterprise; they practice sustainable farming practices, combined with new technologies, innovation, market integration and farm diversification. Through the development of agri business, establishment of infrastructure and entrepreneurship, both women and men benefit from increased economic return, improved farm production and increased farm assets.
