Running for education – Dr.Prahalathan’s campaign for Bhumi
Donations to this NGO have 50% tax exemption.
Most children in shelter homes, slum and village communities go to state funded schools where the quality of education they receive leaves much to be desired. Their learning is ineffective leaving them far behind peers from better privileged backgrounds in the knowledge and chances of a better future.
I am running 10 KMs in the upcoming Marathon in Chennai to raise awareness about the problem and funds for Bhumi to educate such children.
I am one of the co-founders of Bhumi, one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisations. Bhumi as a platform will enable over 5,000 volunteers in more than 10 cities across India for causes like education, environment, animals and community welfare in 2015.
Bhumi volunteers primarily work amongst over 15,000 underprivileged children in 12 cities across India with the aim of providing children with quality supplementary education to enable them to become responsible and productive citizens of the future.
Since 2006, Bhumi has consistently been improving learning abilities of disadvantaged children through education as well as building their self esteem, confidence and leadership; qualities that will prepare them for future employment and help them break the cycle of poverty.
Bhumi being an independent non-profit organisation is supported largely by contributions of large hearted individuals like you. I urge you to run with me to support the cause of education by making a small gift that can help Bhumi provide a better and more secure future for ma
